Les 7 corps du dragon — Shooting photo scénique
A staged photo shoot carried out before the performance of *Les 7 corps du dragon*, with careful attention paid to the lighting, contrasts and atmosphere of the show.

I carried out this photo shoot before the performance of *Les 7 corps du dragon* at the Théâtre Le Bateau-Lune.
I wanted images for the archives, for promotional purposes and as mementos of the project: I wanted them to look as though they’d been taken during an actual performance, whilst making the most of the time before the show to fine-tune the lighting.
I made use of the theatre’s stage lighting – a style similar to concert lighting, which I’m familiar with – and then added my own flashes and lights. The idea was to sculpt the light, create strong contrasts, highlight certain elements and leave other areas in shadow.
Objective
Create striking scenic photographs with a polished, professional finish.
Result
A series of images that are close to realistic depictions, but with greater attention paid to lighting, contrast and composition.
Lessons learnt
I combined stage lighting, flashes and additional lights to create a more precise and controlled atmosphere.
Scenic photo shoot
The photos were taken before the performance. I wanted to recreate the intensity of the show under controlled conditions, to produce striking images for the project’s archives, promotional material and mementoes.
I photographed the scenes as if they were being performed in front of an audience, but with the ability to adjust the lighting, positioning and contrast. I combined the venue’s lighting, flashes and additional lights to create a more professional atmosphere, with certain areas highlighted and others left in shadow.
