A one-hour ceremony, with no retakes. The photos for the press release are sent out the same day; the film two days later.
Pistor is expanding its Western distribution centre in Chavornay. The foundation-laying ceremony takes place in the space of an hour, on a live construction site, with officials leaving straight afterwards. No one takes a second shot.
We scouted the site before the ceremony and mapped out a plan: where to position ourselves for the speeches, where to capture the official gesture, and when to step away to film the building site whilst the guests were toasting. A low-key setup, with no equipment to interfere with the proceedings.
The edit runs for one minute and thirty seconds. It opens with a six-second slow pan that establishes the location, then maintains a steady rhythm of two seconds per shot – fast-paced enough to hold the viewer’s attention, yet deliberate enough to allow each frame to be taken in. The cuts are timed to the music. The film ends with a long shot, allowed to breathe.
We ruled out voice-overs and interviews. The film remains accessible in both French and German, with no need for a new version, and the communications team reuses it as it is on their social media channels.
The photos for the press release were sent out the very same day, whilst the news was still relevant. The film followed two days later, ready for publication. A single point of contact from location scouting right through to delivery.
